New CPA Guidance for the Construction Plant Industry

The Construction Plant-hire Association (CPA) has published guidance for those working on and around construction plant during the Covid-19 pandemic. One of the key messages they have published is that machines should be regarded as just as likely to be contaminated as colleagues, and equally capable of transmitting the virus.

This means that there should be a policy (wherever possible) of a dedicated operator for each machine working on site, minimising the potential spread within the cab/platform area.  Where a change of operators must take place, then a thorough cleaning/sanitising procedure described within the cleaning section of the CLC Site Operating Procedures needs to be carried out each time.

The CPA has also recommended that Plant Hire Companies sanitise all plant and equipment prior to its delivery to site.

These recommendations have been extremely well received by our industry as we all work together to keep ourselves, our families and our colleagues safe. Here at HTS we are excited to offer the Ramsol Sanitising Solution which we have proved, after some rigorous testing, to be the quickest and most efficient way to sanitise plant and equipment. Both in the workshop and even in on-site situations.

Here at HTS we have added a whole range of new products aimed to help the Plant & Tool Hire Industry back to work. These ranges include hand sanitizer, CV19 signage, sanitiser for workshops and offices, social distancing tapes and floor signs and more. We are adding to these ranges daily so keep a watch on our product updates.
