Which Leaf Blower is Best for You?

If you’re finding that the carpet of Autumn leaves covering your footpaths, car parks and work sites is creating a hazard for vehicles and pedestrians, it may be time to clear them away! A traditional rake will do the job but there’s a much more efficient way. If you don’t already have a leaf blower, you’re missing a trick!

Stihl offer a large range of handheld leaf blowers to help you get the job done. Whether you prefer a battery-powered tool, an electric one, or a petrol version, Stihl have a leaf blower that will be perfect for your task... but which one is best?

Each Stihl blower offers its own distinct benefits, whether you choose petrol, electric or battery. There is a model to suit most pockets and scales of task.

Battery

Stihl’s cordless, battery-powered leaf blowers are designed for clearing small outdoor areas and are lightweight and easy to use. They are also quiet and won’t disturb neighbours!

If the area you are clearing is slightly larger, Stihl do offer a more powerful model which will give you approximately 30 minutes of blowing time and the ability to clear up to 900m² of leaves.

These are versatile tools, suitable for users of all abilities thanks to their streamlined designs and three-setting length-adjustable blower tubes. The economic battery technology also means there are no emissions when you’re using them and they are easy to switch on and off – perfect if you’re just doing a quick clear-up.

Electric

If you don't want to worry about your battery running out, Stihl offer corded leaf blowers. The electric blowers are designed to clear small to medium areas and are simple to use – just plug it in, switch it on and you’re ready to go! They also have a built-in cable strain relief hook which helps prevent damage to the electric cable. They have a high blowing force and can be converted into a garden vacuum to shred your leaves.

Petrol

Fallen leaves, grass cuttings, general debris - nothing can withstand the powerful blast of Stihl’s petrol blowers.

The petrol leaf blowers begin with an entry level handheld model, but it still packs a punch thanks to its 2-MIX engine. Stihl’s 2-MIX technology has been developed to maximise the power output and reduce fuel consumption so it’s ultra-efficient. Starting the blower is simple too. It features Stihl’s tried and tested ErgoStart technology which means this leaf blower can be started easily and with little effort from a smooth pull of the cord. It can also be easily converted into a garden vacuum with the vacuum attachment, giving you the option of sucking up and shredding your leaves rather than blowing them into a pile. Also available for the blower is a gutter cleaning set for clearing the dirt and leaves that have built up in your hard-to-reach gutters.

At the other end of the range are the heavy-duty Backpack blowers which are mainly used for effectively and efficiently clearing fallen leaves, grass or light waste from public areas or large private estates. All of the models have a multi-function control handle and electronic ignition. Many accessories are also available to complement these products including curved and flat nozzles, hip belt, chest belt and a bike handle.

Stihl backpack blowers are specially designed for hard work on construction sites. The equipment has particularly long maintenance and servicing intervals and uncompromising reliability.

Alternatively, if you’re planning to collect leaves more than you’ll be blowing them away, Stihl offer a range of petrol-powered vacuums that can also be used as a leaf blower. They also come with ErgoStart technology, and reliable 2-MIX engines.
