Why cheap mounts are always expensive

The Terex/Mecalac MBR71 pedestrian roller is an extremely durable machine. The sheer number of older units still in use and doing a hard days work is a testament to their great build quality.

There are however, 12 vital parts on the MBR71 that do wear out, and these are the rubber Anti Vibration Mountings. Six mounts are used on either end of the drum and are specifically designed to isolate the operator from the extreme vibrations that drum operates at.

Because these mounts are one of the only wearing parts on the MBR71 roller, some owners and operators are tempted to cut costs and source cheap mounts. So the question is... Do cheap mounts save you money? The answer is no!

Changing a complete set of mounts and mounting pins, although no complicated, does take time and, as we all know, time is money! Not to mention the time and money wasted in having a machine not operating due to a broken mount.

Here at HTS we have been suppling the MBR71 roller drum mounts for over 30 years. We have tried a number of manufacturers over the years in our quest to find a mount that offers both value for money and, more importantly, high quality. The mounts we stock now, HTL0445, are sourced from a British manufacturer and have been made to genuine specifications. The mounts feature high shear and torsion strengths which means they last for longer. They are designed to withstand long periods of high vibration stress without malfunctioning.

We have now made it even easier to purchase the MBR71 drum mounts with the introduction of our HTL2605 Roller Drum Mount Kit. This kit contains all 12 mounts and mounting pins needed for one MBR71 roller. This kit plus the complete range of parts for the MBR71 roller can be found on our website.
