We were delighted to host our Charity Day this month in support of our charity of the year, St Michael's Hospice in Hereford. It was a fantastic opportunity for everyone across the office to come together, have fun and, most importantly, raise money for a cause that means so much to our community.
The day was packed with activities - from a delicious team lunch, to a raffle brimming with fantastic prizes, to a light-hearted quiz that challenged us all. The atmosphere was full of energy, generosity, and a real sense of team spirit. Thanks to everyone’s enthusiasm and kindness, we’re proud to share that we raised an incredible £640 for the hospice.
We also spent time talking amongst ourselves about how we, as a business, can support the charity beyond donations and we're excited to share that we’ll be arranging a volunteering day with St Michael’s Hospice in September. This will give us the chance to roll up our sleeves and contribute in a hands-on way, helping the hospice directly in their mission to provide vital care and support.
St Michael’s Hospice provide palliative and end-of-life care for adults across Herefordshire. Their services include inpatient care, day services, and “Hospice at Home,” alongside emotional, practical, and bereavement support for families and carers. They also run specialist services for children and young people, plus therapies designed to improve well-being. With an annual running cost of around £12 million and only a small portion coming from the NHS, the hospice relies heavily on donations, fundraising, shops, and volunteers. Their care touches the lives of more than 2,000 people every year - making every pound raised and every hour volunteered incredibly meaningful.
So while our Charity Day was a huge success, we’re looking forward to strengthening our connection through volunteering and continuing to support the hospice even further.
