Newage Planetary Gear

The Newage Planetary Gear (OEM 220-0080) is a replacement drivetrain component used within the planetary carrier assembly of compatible Newage axles. The gear meshes with the sun gear and annulus to transmit drive through the planetary final drive, providing the reduction and torque multiplication required at the axle.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Planet gears are subject to high loads and continuous meshing with the associated sun gear and annulus. Excessive wear can result in increased radial play, damaged gear teeth and deterioration of the associated planet pin and needle bearing. When servicing a planetary assembly, inspect all mating gears and supporting components for wear or damage.

Newage recommends replacing all three planet gears and their associated bearings when servicing a planetary set. Ensure the planet gears rotate freely on their pins without excessive radial movement and that the assembly is correctly lubricated before returning the axle to service.
