Ignition Module - Stihl
Manufactured to OEM specifications, the ignition module is engineered to withstand high engine temperatures, vibration, moisture, and prolonged operation in demanding commercial environments.
The Stihl Ignition Module (OEM 4282 400 1308) is a genuine replacement electronic ignition coil designed for use on selected Stihl professional backpack blowers. It generates the high-voltage spark required to ignite the air-fuel mixture within the engine cylinder, ensuring reliable starting, smooth running, and consistent engine performance across the operating speed range. Stihl identifies 4282 400 1308 as the current ignition module for selected BR-series blowers, superseding the earlier 4282 400 1305 on compatible machines.
Manufactured to OEM specifications, the ignition module is engineered to withstand high engine temperatures, vibration, moisture, and prolonged operation in demanding commercial environments. Its encapsulated electronic design provides accurate ignition timing and dependable spark generation for long service life.
Suitable for selected Stihl backpack blowers, including:
The ignition module is fitted within the flywheel magneto ignition system and works in conjunction with the flywheel, spark plug, and ignition lead to provide reliable engine ignition.
Always confirm the correct OEM part number, machine model, and serial number before ordering, as Stihl has used several different ignition modules throughout the BR-series production range. OEM 4282 400 1308 supersedes 4282 400 1305 on compatible machines but may not be suitable for earlier blower variants without verifying the serial number.
Common symptoms of a faulty ignition module include a no-spark condition, difficult starting, intermittent engine cut-out, misfiring, or complete engine failure to start. When replacing the ignition module, it is advisable to inspect the flywheel magnets, spark plug, ignition lead, kill switch wiring, and air gap between the flywheel and module to ensure optimum ignition performance and long-term reliability. Professional repair experience consistently shows that genuine OEM ignition modules provide the most reliable performance and correct ignition timing on Stihl professional equipment.
