How To's

Why are some LED work lamps more expensive than others?

Is it worth paying the extra? These are questions we often get asked so let us explain.

What often confuses people is the difference between watts and lumens. How can two lamps with the same watts have different lumens?

Lumens is the term used to describe the total amount of light emitted by the work lamp, while wattage merely indicates the amount of energy it uses.

As lighting becomes ever energy-efficient, a greater number of lumens can be achieved with lower and lower wattages.

For example, our HEL1461 work lamp produces a massive 2150 lumens whilst drawing only 27 watts!

More lumens will equal a wider and brighter area of working light, which for bigger machinery especially is essential.
