Alternator

The Kohler Alternator (OEM 1157518) is a replacement 12V alternator designed for compatible Kohler diesel engines. The alternator generates electrical power while the engine is running, supplying the machine's electrical system and maintaining the battery charge to support reliable starting and continued operation.

With a 55A output, the alternator is suited to the electrical demands of industrial, agricultural and construction equipment fitted with compatible Kohler engines. Replacing a worn or failed alternator helps restore reliable battery charging and prevents electrical system problems caused by insufficient charging voltage.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

A failing alternator can result in low battery voltage, difficulty starting and unreliable operation of electrically powered machine systems. The alternator, drive belt, electrical connections and battery should be checked when diagnosing charging problems.

Always confirm the engine model and serial number before ordering to ensure the correct alternator is fitted. Kohler used several alternator configurations across its KDW and KDI engine ranges, so the existing alternator specification and mounting arrangement should be checked before replacement.
